What we collect

If you only use the early-access form: your email address, and optionally the company and role you’re interviewing for.

If you create an account: your email and password (stored hashed, never in plain text), the interviews you set up, the resume PDF you upload and the text extracted from it, your Story Bank, and your practice answers and the feedback on them.

There are no tracking or advertising pixels on this site, and no third-party analytics.

Where your resume goes

To build your preparation, the text of your resume, the job description you paste, and your practice answers are sent to OpenAI for processing. That is the only third party that receives your content, and it is only sent when you take an action that needs it — building a profile, building your Story Bank, or submitting a practice answer.

If you answer a practice question by voice, the recording is sent to OpenAI to be transcribed, and then discarded. The audio is never written to disk, never stored, and never logged — only the transcript it produces is kept, and only after you submit it. Recording is always optional; you can type every answer instead.

The PDF file itself is stored in private encrypted object storage under a randomly generated name. It is never publicly accessible and is never sent anywhere else.

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it to train anything.

Why we collect it

The email is used to tell you when InterviewLoom opens. The company and role, if you give them, tell us which interviews to support first. We don’t sell this data, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything else.

Where it’s stored

In a PostgreSQL database on our own server in AWS (Northern Virginia), reachable only by the application itself and never exposed to the internet. Uploaded PDFs sit in private encrypted object storage in the same account. The web server keeps standard request logs; they don’t contain your resume, your answers, or your password.

Deletion

If you have an account, go to Settings → Delete account. It removes your account, your resume file, your interviews, your Story Bank, and every practice transcript immediately. There is no waiting period and nothing to ask us for.

For an early-access email with no account, write to hello@interviewloom.com and we’ll delete it. No hoops, no retention arguments.

One thing we keep: an anonymised record of how much processing your account used, with no link back to you. That’s our own cost accounting, not information about you.

Voice answers

This page previously said voice practice wasn’t built yet and promised the recording would be transcribed and discarded rather than retained. It is built now, and that is exactly what it does: the audio is sent to OpenAI to be transcribed and is never written to disk, stored, or logged. Recording is optional — every answer can be typed instead.
